I love clothes, fashion, shopping, and putting together new looks. But sometimes, I need help! When outfit inspiration is in order, I often look online as I am sure many others do. As a way to spread the inspiration and document outfits so I don't have to spend 20 minutes each day deciding, I created "Outfit Ideas" as a supplement to my blog titled Miscellany Matters. I will post pictures of clothes, jewelery, accessories, purses, shoes, and nail polish straight out of my collection to provide ideas for other outfit-seekers. An "anchor piece" will provide a focus for each post with two or more ensemble options. Also, check out my
Polyvore Fashion Creations page for more ideas! Enjoy browsing!
*I am not a professional photographer so the clarity of some pictures may not be the best. I will work on it!
ANCHOR PIECE: Black and White Polka Dot Chiffon Dress from Forever 21
The
cold weather has arrived but that doesn't mean I have to put away my
summer dresses. This chiffon dress is cute and appropriate for work or
play so I decided to find ways to wear it all year.
A pop of green! Purple nail polish would be a nice contrast. |
My favorite color combination! Red or black nail polish. |
ANCHOR PIECE: Blue Chiffon Dress from Francesca's
The cold weather has arrived but that doesn't mean I have to put away my summer dresses. This chiffon dress is cute and appropriate for work or play so I decided to find ways to wear it all year.

This would be a nice early spring or fall outfit. I would match a light gray nail polish to it and either a silver or gray purse. |
For the winter. You could put a dark gray nail polish with this to finish off the look. |
For the spring or summer. Match red, white-ish, or silver nail polish and a white purse. |
ANCHOR PIECE: Black Cotton Dress from Target
A black comfortable dress is my go-to outfit in the summer. This one from Target is able to be dressed-up or dressed-down which makes it an even better buy. I should probably get another one!
Love black and white. You could add a scarf to this, a black and white one or a silver one would be a nice supplement. Or, a bright colored scarf would provide a bold contrast. |
Good for work and/or dinner. |
Gold is not my favorite but I do like black and gold together. Add some leopard print for some edginess. |
ANCHOR PIECE: Mustard Yellow V-Neck Tee from Target
Mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors. When I saw and felt this tee at Target, I had to get it. I could have put outfits together all day with this as the anchor piece and the best part is the price - only $10.
Olive green and mustard yellow work well together. Lots of jewelry options with this one, too.
Those yellow Old Navy flats are the best shoes I own! |
Black shorts would make this a summer outfit with any of the shoe options. A silver metallic polish or black polish would be a nice touch for fingers and toes. |
Yellow and gray is another color combination I love. I would wear gray nail polish with this outfit. If it is cold, you could do a sheer gray nylon or and dark jeans tucked into the gray boots. |
Change up the gray for brown. |
ANCHOR PIECE: Lime Green and Teal Patterned Scarf from Charming Charlie
A nice, cool summer outfit. |
Business look for the summer. A bright white nail polish (if you have the correct skin tone) would make it more youthful. |
You could wear black tights and black boots for the winter. I would opt for black polish for more sophistication. |
ANCHOR PIECE: Cobalt Blue Pencil Skirt from The Limited
While some may not go for this, I have always loved these colors together. |
This is more of a winter look and one could wear boots instead of pumps. |
Add a bold red nail polish for even more of a classy look. A black or white purse would work well, too. |
